How to register as an Intermediary organisation
19 June 2012 | by LITRG
HMRC Benefits and Credits have made a form available to the revenuebenefits website to speed up the registration process for intermediary organisations who deal with tax credits and child benefit on a regular basis.
Once authorised, you will be given a reference number for your organisation which can be used on the TC689 authority form. In addition, in cases where authorisation is needed quickly, TC689s can be faxed to HMRC. They will, however, only accept an urgent TC689 by fax from registered organisations.
You can find full details of the registration process, including the new registration form TC1136, in our acting on behalf of someone else sections:
- Tax Credits - Acting on behalf of someone else - Intermediaries
- Child Benefit - Acting on behalf of someone else - Intermediaries
You will also find the following information in those sections:
- What is an intermediary?
- What can an intermediary do?
- How to become an intermediary
- Registering as an intermediary organisation
